My Picture Diary
Some digital paintings from a visual diary of our quiet, sometimes uneventful days as I raise my daughter, Lolo. Reflective surfaces, a walk home from school, an afternoon nap are all precious moments that I want to hold on to forever.

My Chinese Stomach
A poorly prepared meal can ruin my mood. As an ode to my love for Chinese food, I painted some of my favorites.

Animation
For me, animating is an excuse to be silly. I’ve always been drawn to cute things — animals, fluffy toys, and tiny objects. Whenever I get to animate, it’s a way to connect with that part of myself I’ve never outgrown.

Ink Wash
Working in black and white is all about tone — light, shadow, and everything in between.

Gouache
I love working in ink wash. The chalky, matte finish and nostalgic colors make everything feel like a memory.

Hi! I’m Jingyao. I was born in China, studied painting at MICA and animation at SVA. I live in Queens with my husband and daughter, who are usually somewhere nearby while I’m drawing, painting, or working on something quietly funny. 

This site is home to my personal work. For over 13 years, I’ve freelanced in digital media on projects ranging from games, motion, and advertising to traditional work.

你好！我是静瑶。我出生于中国，在马里兰艺术学院MICA 学习绘画，后来在视觉艺术学院 SVA 学习动画。现在我住在纽约皇后区，和我的丈夫与女儿一起生活——他们通常就在我身边，当我在工作，画画，或默默创作一些带点幽默的作品时。

这个网站里基本上都是我的个人创作——那些我为自己而做、并且最引以为傲的作品。我从事自由职业已经将近13年了，主要从事电脑绘图，偶尔也会做一些传统水彩，水粉。我参与的工作项目主要是以游戏、动态图像和广告为主。
